A problem i need your help with it guys...

Well guys i got a big problem with mt 24 X writer. i borrow it to a friend and he did a mistake he change the jumper in the board of the writer instead of changing the normal IDE select jumper. now when i try to run NERO i got it hangged without run the same with disc copier from Roxio the starnge thing is that i can get Creator classic run and when i get it run i make cds sucessfuly with it without problems. i tryed to change the jumper and thats what i get first and second places i get the writer detected by my PC but its hangged as i described earlier, in the third place i got the the device detected with name Firmware loader version 02 instaed of SONY... etc By theway my drive is Sony CD RW CRX 175E 2 i tried to get any firmware updates but i didnt find and what i got is firmware for CD RW CRX 175E but its didnt recognize the cd rw to firmware it. so is there any solution ?? is there anyway to get it working again ??

My suggestion would be to buy a new one ( over here in UK CDRW drives start from £20 ), rather than try to mess up even more than your friend did. I can only see more trouble coming from trying to fix this...I would make your friend help you buy a new one... BTW: what made your friend think he had to change the board jumper?

Well first let me thank you for reply, second i thought i could fix it and sell it, third he did that by miskate of course but its ok he is an old friend and im not going to ask him to share me with the price of the new one its the age of this cd rw and im not going to blame him ijust find its something silly from him to dont check the right jumper.
