I get an error every time I try to encode a wma file into mp3. The encoder just says that Microsoft does not allow the transcoding of WMA files into any other formats. I am using nero 6. Does anybody know how to correct this problem?

Hi brynt and welcome to our forums. Have you tried encoding to wave first? It may be that you have a copy protected wma file which needs a different approach.

Hi SirQUK and thanks for the welcome note. I cannot encode to wav first cause the wma file will not open at all in nero encoder, it just gives me an erro. I have tried downloading the wma plug-in from Nero, but the file will still not open.

You may want to give Tunebite a go and see if that helps. This software is designed for copy protected wma files. A brief look through our software section can also bring up a lot of software that might help your cause Smile
