I have used DivX to DVD a few times now and the DVD has always been read by stand alone DVd players. But my computer will not read these disc, both my DVD ROM and DVD re-writer show empty with one of these disc's in. My DVD ROM is a Mercury 16X and my DVD re-writer is a Samsung. I would be grateful for any advice.

This has nothing to do with DivXtoDVD. Your problems are very likely due bad media, all drives can not recognize 'cheap' media, some can, some don't. If that disk does not work in any drive then burning program has messed it up, either not closing disk or somehow making it non-standard. You will get much better response on your burner softwares forum.

Hi doxford and welcome to our forums. I would suggest making sure you are on the latest firmware revisions for your optical drives. Could you post your DivXtoDVD log in here so that we may see what firmwares you are on at the moment and then maybe we could suggest a course of action.

thank you for the 2 replies. I will look into the media question and try a name brand of disc, as a master copy. I will also check out my firmware of my 2 drives.
