Works on Computer not on stand alone

I searched through the various topics here and didn't find an answer to my problem. Then again, I am not exactly tech-savvy. I converted 4 avi files using DivxToDVD and burned using Copy To DVD. I tried this twice and both times the dvd played fine on my computer, but not on my stand alone dvd player (which is a Zenith btw and has progressive scan). I have never had a problem using 1Click to burn dvd to dvd using my player. Any suggestions as to what I could do? tia

Hi violettfem and welcome to our forums. To rule out a CopyToDVD related issue you could try recording with another software. Is there anything on the disc at all? if there is it could be a finalisation problem. Could you post the log file of the related recordings please?

I don't have another dvd-RW software. I only have the vso Copy to DVD which is why I am trying the VSO DivXToDVD. Your biggest problem is going to be getting your standalone to recognize the DVD+RW, none of mine will regonize them + or -, but they have no problems with dvd +/- r's. I think you'll find that this may be the problem.

Just as chaosmaker said. Lot of standalones are not supporting rw-format. If that disc works on computer (autoplays with dvd-player) then try that disc on someone elses standalone. If it works then yours is too picky. I have found that even new machines are not supporting rw. Not even brand new "copymachine" that reads VHS and burns it to DVD...
