I converted my DivX movie, but the result does not have audio. I burned it using NERO and still no audio (I tested on my DVD player). I tried to play the VOB file using PowerDVD, and also it does not have audio. I have installed AC3Filter codec, and rebooted my PC before converting. Anyone know what should I do to fix this problem ? I used another software before to burn this DivX movie to DVD, and has no problem with the audio. But why vso does not have audio ... Thanks for any help. Hi bobota! I'm just skimming through. Reason why there's no audio is indicated in the log, "Delay of audio #0 = -9223372036854775 mS (Advance)". This is too long a delay. That's out of spec. There are 2 other warnings as well. Someone here will be able to help you out further. |

| Hmm, maybe. But what does it means? In the mean time I re-burned it again using DVDSanta, and it is perfectly fine. Hope vso guys will fix this in the next release. I love vso because its speed and quality ! |

| Very probably your original file has illegal/damaged information about sound/video lenght or start. This can be fixed by loading file to VirtualDub or similar, it will complain about that error and ask permission to fix it, just let it fix it and save it back. If DVDSanta is NOT asking about that error, then it is not doing it's job properly. There might be real reason for having audio delay, like some companies that add copyright warnings etc., but no sound. If that kind of movie is converted without asking user, sound will be advanced and out of sync. |

| Guess what? I opened the AVI using VirtualDub 1.5.10 and there is no error message. VirtualDub can play it perfectly. |

| Hello folks... I've been having a similar problem to the above, using both VSO and Santa, though mine is a little different... If more than one .VOB file is created during a file conversion, the first .VOB has perfect sound, but the rest of them always come through with no sound at all. I've tried converting a number of large AVI's but they all come out the same way. Latest codecs etc are installed, and it doesn't make any sense at all... If its any help, heres the log of the last attempt... 17/04/2005 17:53:52 info conversion completed in 01:26:10 17/04/2005 17:53:52 info Avg. quantization factor 0.0 (smaller is best) 17/04/2005 16:27:42 info MSG Level #0 - rc buffer underflow 17/04/2005 16:27:42 info Output Stream#1 - Audio: ac3, 48000 Hz, stereo, 192 kb/s 17/04/2005 16:27:42 info Output Stream#0 - Video: mpeg2video, 720x576, 25.00 fps, q=2-31, 6603 kb/s 17/04/2005 16:27:42 info MSG Level #1 - Warning min_rate > 0 but min_rate != max_rate isnt recommanded! 17/04/2005 16:27:42 info Stream #0.1 --> #0.1 17/04/2005 16:27:42 info Stream #0.0 --> #0.0 17/04/2005 16:27:42 info Stream mapping 17/04/2005 16:27:42 info Set Avg. video bitrate 6603.6 kb/s 17/04/2005 16:27:42 info Segment #1 - File.avi 17/04/2005 16:27:42 info 1 file(s) to convert - Total Time 01:31:17 17/04/2005 16:27:42 info PAL 25 FPS output format has been selected 17/04/2005 16:27:42 info 4:3 automatically selected 17/04/2005 16:27:42 info conversion started 17/04/2005 16:27:33 info Delay of audio #0 = 440 mS 17/04/2005 16:27:33 info Computed Frame Aspect Ratio : 1.3333 17/04/2005 16:27:33 info Stream#1 - Audio: mp3, 48000 Hz, stereo, 127 kb/s 17/04/2005 16:27:33 info Stream#0 - Video: mpeg4, 512x384, 25.00 fps 17/04/2005 16:27:33 info Found 2 Stream(s) - movie duration 01:31:17.200 17/04/2005 16:27:33 info Input file "C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Desktop\File.avi" 17/04/2005 16:27:25 info User default language : 2057 (0x0809h) - English (United Kingdom) 17/04/2005 16:27:25 info System default language : 2057 (0x0809h) - English (United Kingdom) 17/04/2005 16:27:25 info Version 0.5.1.97 17/04/2005 16:27:25 info ExeName : "C:\Program Files\vso\DivxToDVD\divxtodvd.exe" 17/04/2005 16:27:25 info OS : Microsoft Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2 (Build 2600) Cheers Steven |

actually, i loaded the VTS_01_0.IFO in flaskmpeg, and the sound is there. however, it is reported like this: | Code: | | DVD titles ------------------------------ 0. - Duration: 0:23:03 DVD Audio tracks ------------------------------ Not Specified - AC3 | "Not Specified," is that normal? if i hit play in flaskmpeg, the video and sound play. |

It is due developers trying to fix problem with Panasonic players but it did not help. | Quote: | | DVD titles ------------------------------ 0. - Duration: 0:23:03 DVD Audio tracks ------------------------------ Not Specified - AC3 | What does it normally report? | I checked it out, and it seems like all it usually reports is the language or maybe the track name. for example, DVD Audio tracks ------------------------------ English - AC3 so i don't think it means anything other than that the track hasn't been named. I doubt that's why the audio isn't working when i play the dvd in a player or just run the .vob file in WMP. |

But - check filesize, is there audiodata or only video. If there is audiodata then it might be this problem. Try to change audiosettings from your player (and WMP) to use "default" or any other settings. Some players are very picky on this, as there are DVDs and TV-broadcasts that have multiple language audio, and they are trying to use ONLY user specified language. "Not Specified" is not matching any... I know this is just wild goose hunting but worth a try. |

| WMP is already set up to play default if i play the file in flaskmpeg, the audio plays, so there is actually audio in the files; but, my goal is to be able to play these on a dvd player. wmp and media player classic seem to see that an audio track is there, but i don't hear anything (MPC sees: VTS_01_1.VOB / Audio. WMP sees: Audio Track 1) |

| Ok, do you have AC3 codec properly installed? Do you get sound from XviD-files? And same might be on DVD - if it is configured to send AC3 direct to external amplifier and you don't have one connected - no sound... |

bahah.. this is embarassing. i formatted recently and didn't realize I hadn't re-installed the AC3 codec yet (i guess i hadn't played any AVIs with AC3 audio yet). installed it, and MPC plays the audio now.. WMP crashes of course the speaker system was set to something that was working fine for normal DVDs, but for whatever reason wasn't working for the one i made with divxtodvd. (it's not my system! : P) thanks for the help! |

| Quote: | | bahah.. this is embarassing. | Nah, it happens to everyone. | Quote: | | but for whatever reason wasn't working for the one i made with divxtodvd. | Commercial DVDs have at least 2 audiotracks - one "normal" and one digital. DivX/XviD files usually have only digital sound, so there is only silence on "normal" audio track. Good that your problem was solved. |
