|
|
| ok folks here's the deal, RC2 for windows Server 2003 SP1 64 bit and Windows XP Pro 64 bit is out and has been for a couple of months it's even available for public consumption, there will problably be just a couple of more interim builds before final release, so we figured this would be a good place to start listing 64 bit compatible applications and games. It will take all of us to get a good list to share with others, so if you run across 64 bit compatible applications that fall in line with the community theme put it here. As of now we know Nero, and most if not all of the VSO products will work with the 64 bit OS. I know of only one game as of right now that is for the 64 bit system and thats out of the box, it will run 32 bit but was made for the 64 bit and that is Shadow Op's "Red Mercury" They closed the customer preview of RC2 on March 25th and expect the full blown trial to be released soon, see here: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/64bit/evaluation/upgrade.mspx |

Windows Xp 64-bit went RTM today, but you knew that already i'm guessing. 3DMark 03 and 05 both run in 32-bit mode under Windows XP 64-bit RC2. |

| Forgot to mention, most of Intel Network Interface cards, some 3Com NIC and a couple of Realtek NIC's have released 64-bit drivers already. |

| Winimage and Virtualdub both have 64-bit versions. For a good list of software that runs on Windows XP 64-bit, look here Note that Nero runs fine, I've tested version 6.6.0.8a myself works fine, except for cd-speed and infotool that won't run. CD-speed need an ASPI driver which i didn't have close at hand, Infotool just simply failed to run. |

| Firefox seems to have a x64 version, located here. It seems to be unofficial and only works if you have the 32-bits version running too. Haven't tested it myself yet. |
