I converted an mpeg movie to dvd with divxtodvd, and burnt it with copy2dvd, it runs fine on my one dvd player, but on my pioneer player the dvd just scrolls and scrolls really fast, It will play other dvds i have burned, but it seems if it has been converted form an mpeg it just wont work. It must be the player, but am i missing something simple Thanks

Hi ytay and welcome to our forums. Pioneers can be picky. Are you using the same media for the ones that do/dont work ok in the pioneer?

yes it is the same media, when i burn a movie using dvd-decrypter, then dvd2one, and burn it using copy2dvd, no problem at all, but when it is a movie converted to dvd from an mpeg file, it just doesnt work, just keeps scrolling fast as hell......seems a little weird to me, this has happened to 2 movies i have converted now, tried + and - dvds, and no luck

This could be a case where 3:2 pulldown is required in the DivXToDvd options.

Sorry, i will reword. This could be a case of the option needing to be in newer versions of DivXToDvd. I am no expert here but it does point to it. This scrolling effect is common on a conversion from pal to ntsc that does not have 3:2 pulldown done. I hope some one with more experience can confirm my feelings.

Every time this has happened to me it is because I didn't set the Standard setting to NTSC instead of automatic. The divx video was in the PAL standard. Anyway if it was me I would re-encode with this setting verified. Always works for me.

That really should be the case here. As NTSC picture is slightly smaller, some players will have problems playing PAL format video. However - PAL players have no problem playing NTSC.
