Download free trial of Slysoft Any DVD 4.6.3.1 and let it run in the background, I then use a programme called VobBlanker version 1.6.0.6 and processed Layer Cake, and VobBlanker sure ripped it with no problems. Once files processed run through DVD Shrink and burn. I have copied The Forgotten, Layer Cake, Resident Evil 2 and Little Black Book using this method, Forgotten only 2hrs ago. All the above have Sony ARccOS Protection on them. Using DVD Decrypter 3.5.4.0 would decrypt but unable to compress with shrink afterwards, and Clone DVD in conjunction with AnyDVD would not do the job either. Use VobBlanker it's worked first time on each of the above.

Hi SparkySpark and welcome to our forums Thanks for the info! I find it strange that CloneDVD will not rip it with AnyDVD running.

ANYDVD and DVD43 running in the background interferes with DVD Decrypter. If you plan on using DVDD 3.5.4.0 successfully you need to disable them.

Anydvd was disabled when DVD Decrypter was running, and you're quite right it did read the ARccOS Protected discs however when shrinking the film was distorting and unable to watch using DVD Shrink. I think you will find differing results from machine to machine, but on reading several forums on this problem everybody seems to have tried different variations of software without any positive results or should I say with the odd success story. I guarantee you that VobBlanker will process all Sony protected discs without fail, future protection formats we'll have to wait and see, give it a try anyway and see what you think. Never used DVD43 how reliable is it ?

I own an original of everyone of the previously mentioned movies except for Layer Cake which has not been released in the US that I know of. I have made successful 1:1 backups of everyone of these movies without distorting video. Most of these movies have a WS and FS version. Perhaps you didn't remove one of the version and tried to shrink both versions onto a DVD-5 with heavy compression. This will cause distortion. Just guessing here since I know nothing of your system, how you are re-authoring movie(s) and what burner/media you are using. I am just a little surprised that you are having playback problems with these movies using DVD Decrypter.

VOBBlanker is a very good program and I use it all the time for various things, but not for stripping or re-authoring purposes.

As far as DVD43 or ANYDVD, I personally do not care for either one!
