hey all. I have a TDK 4800B burner with the latest firmware, and I'm trying to burn with Nero 5.5.10.28, and I'm getting a lot of coasters. The drive is running in DMA mode, and the files I am burning are either on my scsi drive, or on a SATA drive, either way, I get coasters. I haven't gotten this many since the old days when my 2X was brand new and cd's were much more expensive. I am using Maxell disks, which I usually don't use... I usually only buy TDK. I'm hoping it's not the disks since I have about 80 left in the stack... but if that's what it comes down to, then so be it. Anyone have any similar experiences? I'm running WinXP, latest updates, etc. I've already removed the nvidia standard ide driver in favor of the windows one (which wouldn't allow me to burn AT ALL, let alone get errors). I wasn't getting these errors with the older version of nero I don't think... but then again, I also didn't have these maxell cd's. System specs are: Abit NF7-S 2.0 Bios 1.2 Athlon XP "Barton" 3200 1gig Corsair 3200LL Geforce4 4600 Adaptec 29160 Blah blah blah. Any ideas? Thanks much, Staze

Hi staze Reading your posts, there could be a couple of possibilities. You say previous ersions of nero worked ok but this is first time you have maxell ( which IMO are very good ). You could try another media to confirm this error ( preferably rewritable ) Have you any packet writing software running? Do you have the XP burning engine switched on ...both these could cause errors.. Do you use the XP restore feature?- is it possible for you to go back to a point b4 you installed latest nero to check the versions are working ok? Good luck and let us know
