Hi. I had the same problem as Smilo, after converting several files successfully. This is what happened. I had a downloaded movie in two files, part 1=706 760 kB, and part 2=711 788 kB. I converted the two files one by one successfully to a specified folder. The result were found in two subfolders of specified directory. Since I couldn't figure out how to burn these files into one dvd-r (join after conversion), I deleted them, and decided to join the two source files into one. I joned the two files using a software named Movie Tool Box/Movie Joiner. I then had a sourcefile with the size of 1 412 874 kB. Started the Divx to dvd and specified the same output directory, and started conversion. After two hours or so, the process had stopped, and had a message saying "output may not be avilable" This is the first problem I've had with the software, now I will try to reinstall and try one more time.

Are you sure that joiner can actually join DivX/XviD files properly? Your problem sounds just like bad join. There is NO need to join them as DivXtoDVD can convert multiple files now. Just select first part, then select next etc, then press convert.

Only problem with that is you get two seperate titles on the DVD - unless you re-author them into a single title using another tool. Would be very nice to be able to specify whether you want multiple input files converted as multiple titles OR joined under one title.

True. This should not be a problem, (ok, it is now due menu-problems!) you can make menu to show only start of each movie, and submenu to show chapters etc. This works fine with TMPGEnc - sadly it seems to recode video and complaints about some vts-files. (made with 0.45-0.47versions)

Thanx JJ I may agree with you on the bad join thing. Actually, this is the first joined file I'm trying to convert. All other conversion has been single files, not joined, and successfully converted. It's also first time using this software for joining. I will try joining with other software to see what result I get. Bigly, I have no problem converting the two files one by one. Problem is that the output separate them in two folders, so when I'm trying to burn them to DVD, I can't figure out how to let the burning software join them. I'm using Roxio Easy Media Creator 7, which suits this purpose very good. Probably there is a function to join the files, I haven't figured out yet.

Afrika; Just select multiple files with DivXtoDVD. Easiest way is to select first part, then second and so on. Then you will have on that line all those files. Then press Convert - it will put them all to same video_ts folder. Much easier.

Yes BUT you will have 1 film spread over two Titles if you let DivXToDVD handle it - there WILL BE a specific 'jump' in the middle as the player moves to the second title. For this scenario (1 film split into 2 avi's NOT 2+ films on 2+ avi's) Afrika IS doing the right thing - just needs to make sure the joining tool is capable. Try VirtualDub or VirtualDubMod to join the avi's B4 using DivXToDVD. (Make sure to select "Direct Stream" or you will get a re-encode!). Wink

PROBLEM SOLVED! I used Easy Video Joiner v 5.21, to join the two parts, with success. It seems that the Tool Box joiner software is not capable to handle these files. Sourcefile after using toolbox = 1 412 874kB and sourcefile after using Easy Video Joiner = 1 420 057kB. (Size of the two separate files added= 1 416 806)Looks to me that Easy Video Joiner handles this thing exellent. Highly recommended software. http://doeasier.org/joiner/ Conversion of this joined file went without any problem, and were done in appx. 2h 37 min. Duration of movie = appx. 2h 43 min. Burning to DVD using Roxio Easy Media Creator 7, were also successful. GREAT!
