The best program by farrrrrrrrrrr is DVDxCopy xpress. it will make a back up of DVD movies to 1 recordable DVD 4.7gb disc even dual layer DVD-9's which normally require a process of decrtpting, transcoding and then burning. get it HERE

Not really...no dvd copy is best..I suggest you download trial version to see if you like it, if the company does not provide trial version is because it sucks.

Well personally I like Instantcopy v7.xx from Pinnacle, but there are many programs like this one. But I know a good friend of mine likes dvdshrink and copytodvd a lot he uses dvdshrink to compress it and copytodvd to burn it to dvd. See also: http://www.cdr-zone.com/news.php?section=news&action=show&id=793 See for more information about DVDShrink: http://www.afterdawn.com/articles/archive/dvd9_to_dvdr_with_dvd_shrink.cfm But it is up to you to decide which you prefer.

I have been trying out InstantCopy lately. How can I avoid copying over big .vob files for the extras? I simply uncheck them once InstantCopy allows the import. It seems I get an error everytime I try to import without copying over the .ifo and .vob's from the extras. Thanks. Leslie

At present I am using clonedvd to back up the kids dvd's. It seems fine when copying the movie only and even the full disc mode. I havent tried it on dual layer tho or using the spanning option

There is a dvd backup software for every type of need nowadays! Please check out our DVD Comparison for more info on what we thought. we have tried to stay as objective as possible! My personal fav way is to copy the Dvd to hd with DVD Decrypter, strip out whats not needed with Dvdremake and then if needed compress and record with 1clickdvdcopy Dvdshrink or Dvd95copy. The thing about stripping out unwanted stuff with DvdReMake is quite often you dont need to compress your dvd afterwards. It's one extra step to save a lot of compression normally.

If you want a movie-only backup, eventually with 1 subtitle, there's no better option than DVDREasy + Cinema Craft Encoder 2.50...... Highest quality...... If you want a custom dvd,for example with menus but being able to do some manual editing,DVDRemake Pro and DVDRebuilder + CCE or HEnc offer you the highest quality and options... I only use transcoders, like Nero Recode,if they offer me at least 85% of the quality of the original.....else,I use 1 of the other options I mentioned...

Hi roy love i,m naroon.I use several methods to back up my dvds,I use dvd x copy express and platinum both good solid progs. Also use dvd clone 2 alongside dvd for free or dvd clone 2 alongside region free +css copy.At the end of the day its down to personal preferrence and what works best for u.It was good advice a couple of threads back if you are not offered a free trial then dont bother with it.
