Screwed up on my very first attempt so I am not quite happy Intermission (Region 2, PAL) [Although I suspect this is my wrong doing rather than a DRM glitch]. Using DRM 2.60 Pro, DVDIdle Pro 5.56 enabled On first play, if I enter the Special features the screen goes blank and stucks (checked it with both PowerDVD and my standalone Pioneer player) If I press stop and re-enter the title menu (on Pioneer, can't just skip back to title menu), selecting Special features will indeed present the correct screen with full functionality. What gives???? All I did was 1) delete the "also available" button from title menu (last button in number order) 2) delete "Making of" streem and button from special features (last button in number order again) 3) delete misc crap such as intro logo, disclaimers etc... Suggestions are more than welcome TIA |

| From the information you have provided, it will be hard to figure out what's wrong. First of all try it again using the "Hide button" feature instead of deleting it. |

it sounds like the still screen issue similar to Back To The Future issue. Is it a still menu or does it have a transition between menus? if it is the same issue then you can fix it |

| Main menu is motion while extras is still. Not entirely sure if it has transitions (totally ignorant on DVD structure). Checking it with PowerDVD, on first play. the extras black screen was displayed as being 168 minutes. I am about to burn my second DVD now (The Punisher), following the same steps but for the deletion instead of hide buttons. This should determine whether it is something with that particular DVD or not. |

PowerDVD isn't the best for testing DVD playbcak. Mark's Tray DVD player (Pre version 2) is quite good though the menu transistion is what plays between the main menu and the menu (extras etc, normally still menus) you select from it when you press the button |

Riiight. No then. No transitions. Simple still. Did my second DVD burning though with 2.61 and had no such problems (which is GOOD) BUT run on the very same problem with layer brakes that is mentioned elsewere (which is bad) . Reporting it on relevant thread. As for Mark's Tray, I know. Read it in elsewhere too. For some reason though can't seem to work the bloody thing. Keeps generating me errors of various sorts. All in all, PowerDVD has proven to be quite reliable on reproducing the same problems that my standalone Pioneer does, so far |

| For me sometimes WinDVD 6 behaves even more like my standalone. Maybe you should give it a try. In my experience PowerDVD is the worst choice. |

| Wouldn't change PowerDVD for WinDVD. Don't ask why; Can't teach an old dog new tricks. Should however meddle a bit more with Mark's tray I reckon.... I finally managed to get it going but only with a finished DVD. It's a start |

you always get there in the end with marks player and most times you dont know how you did it PowerDVD is excellent for actually watching DVD's on your PC or via a TV output. As a dvd compliance tool I don't recommend it very highly due to it's leniancy but people are entitled to use whatever they like . I just try to warn them that if it plays in PowerDVD then it doesn't mean it will play in a fussy Pioneer/Sony/Philips standalone for example |

Yeah, it works for me only with VIDEO_TS.IFO too. Can't open VOB files, but doesn"t really matter. BTW I didn't want you to completelye change to WinDVD, I just shared my experience. |

erdoke, when you say you cant open VOB files doe you mean by double clicking them? If you start PowerDVD then drag and drop them into the preview window works I think sharing experiences is what it's all about. It's the sometimes nasty tone some posters seem to have when other members don't use the same software. I don't see much of it here (if at all) and that's what's cool about this place as it doesn't happen and if it does it's nipped in the bud |

It simply doesn't start playing it, while it works flawlessly when selecting VIDEO_TS.IFO files. Double clicking invokes the default application for DVD playing which is WinDVD for me. BTW how about my IFOs, Tray Player and WinDVD plays that movie, but my SONY standalone don't. Never happened before, though I heavily was into the register settings. |

Well, don't forget you're one hour behind me. I'm 1/24 day more tired. Yes, I was talking about Tray Player, it's OK with VIDEO_TS.IFO, but doesn't play VOBs. Not a big problem anyway... Regarding my backup, unfortunately I've deleted the intermediate stages, so I have only the original and the final. I have to start it again. Do you think the standalone issue can be related to the Layer Break problem? It won't even start, possibly not a problem with chapter transitions. |

it could well be but test 262 when you get the time and if it still doesn't work then we can look for a reason why |
