|
|
| Shrek 3D Region Code 2, ripped with DVDDecrypter 3.5.1.0: since the DVD fits on a DVD5 without any kind of shrinking, I just removed some warning screens with DVDRemake Pro (2.4.4). While the DVD plays ok on my Yamakawa 365 Divx, it skips automatically through the chapters on my Sony NS405. Same as with Scary Movie 3 so far, but as the DVD didn't need to be compressed, this time I could just take the files ripped with DVDDecrypter and burn them to DVD (without using DVDRemake or any other tool). Since this DVD played ok on my Sony, it's now 100% clear that DVDRemake Pro messes something within the DVDStructure that makes the created DVD skip on Sony players. As with Scary Movie 3, I will supply anyone who's interested with Navpacks. Then again, nobody was interested in my SM3 navpacks after all. |

| 1. What you mean by "skips automatically through the chapters"? 2. Can you prepare two directories: one is "original" with files ripped by decryptor, and another "exported" with files exported by DRM without -any- changes. 3. Does "exported" "skips"? 4. Can you compare (for example using trial version of this nice software: http://www.prestosoft.com/ps.asp?page=edp_examdiffpro ) vob files in "original" and "exported" directories? Any differences? -> we will need to see extracted NAV packs from both. There was another thread ( http://cdr-zone.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=994 ) about resolved problem with sony player. May be it is related. |

| 1. Instead of playing the movie normaly, it plays half a second, then skips to the next chapter , plays half a second, then skips again and so on. Just as if i would press the "skip to next chapter" key of the remote the whole time. 2. Did so. 3. I would have to burn a coaster to test this. Maybe I can find a RW medium and test this. 4. 27 of 48 files differ. Amongst them all IFO/BUPs and three VOBs. Most have only byte mismatches (amongst them the IFOs/BUPs and the VOB VTS_01_0.VOB), but two VOBs also differ in size (VTS_01_1.VOB and VTS_01_2.VOB). One got two bytes smaller, one two bytes larger. I can prepare the Navpacks. Is is ok to send them via mail? |

Update: I burned the unchanged export to DVD-RW and it skips as well (jumps from chapter to chapter as described above). I uploaded the zipped navpacks of original and DRM-exported Shrek-3d to: http://home.arcor.de/0xdeadbeef/shrek3d_navpack.zip (1.8MB) Just in case someone is interested in the Scary Movie 3 Navpacks as well: http://home.arcor.de/0xdeadbeef/scarymovie3_navpack.zip (5.7MB) I will be away for two about weeks , so I can't give any feedback until then. Well, in case there is something else to test at all |

| Might wanna try a manual "get vts". I had the same problem with The Animatrix from Boozers. Seems to be something that only affects SOny's. Never where able to pin-point the problem. I should take a renewed look at it, but to little time atm |

| By taking a quick look at the ifo's, all the timing and entry cells seem to be in place. I would try just placing the original main movie into the DRM output, and then doing a manual get vts. Or make a new ifo by abusing the menuedit procedure. Open the original ifo that corresponds to the menu VOB. So don’t open the video_ts.ifo. In “IfoEdit” select the option “Menu Extra’s”. Select the options “Strip VobID’s”, "Correct Vob-Unit”, and “Correct original IFO files”. Select a different directory then your original VIDEO_TS to save the new ifo. De-select “AutoCopy Menu-files to destination”. Press “OK”. Select “Check all” and “Correct IFO tables”, and click “Strip It”. A new ifo and menu VOB will now be generated. Copy the new ifo’s to the VIDEO_TS directory. You might wanna try also using the IfoEdit generated VOB's if it makes any. |

I had similar skipping problems with my Sony standalone backing up a Disney DVD (Mickey's 3 musketeers) for my daughter. Fortunately I haven't deleted the original files yet. |

| I will give it a try. Might take some time though. [EDIT] Sorry to say this, but the main movie (3D) still skips from chapter to chapter if exported with 2.5.4. |

| Have you used saved project or you reimported disk from scratch for this test? |

| I must admit I used a saved project. I could do a complete reimport and export without changes if you suggest this makes a difference. I'll report back when I tested this. |

Ok, imported anew and exported unchanged and guess what? No skipping anymore Now I would have to retry with changing and exporting but somehow I trust you now that this issue, whatever it was, is fixed now. Thanks a lot |
