Hello All: I'm having trouble with my Internal Delta 12X40X DVD Player, it stopped recognizing, playing or opening DVD's . Before I trashed it I thought I would make sure that the Firmware was working correctly by reinstalling it but I can't seem to find it on the Internet. Can anyone help me? Thanks, Lee |

Hello SirQUK, Thank You for the Welcome! When I went to the Firmware Section I was redirected, (apparently,) to the Websites Section. Sorry. I downloaded from the Link You provided but I can't understand how I am to install the Firmware. I guess I expected to copy it to a bootable floppy and install from a cold boot. Any help is most appreciated. Thank You, Lee PS I have Version 2.40 and I am using Win 98SE (Is this a Firmware or a Region Changer update?) |

| ok from the firmware read me file '1). Create a sub-director that contains mtkflash.exe and the .hex file (for example: C:\reflash) 2). Boot to a DOS prompt 3). Execute the program mtkflash.exe in DOS 4). See what IDE port the DVD-ROM is under windows entering screen. Remarks: IDE port has 4 parameters: 1-1st IDE, master 2-1st IDE, slave 3-2nd IDE, master 4-2nd IDE, slave 5). Run the mtkflash.exe with proper IDE port. For example, if the IDE port is 3-2nd IDE, master, you have to key the command like following: mtkflash 3 w ********.hex (and then press enter)(replace the *'s with the name of the hex file) 6). Then it shows updating 00%---> until to 100% it finishes. 7). Re-boot ' So if u create a folder in C: called reflash, you boot to Dos prompt, then type CD C:\reflash and then if ya drive is secondary master u would type: mtkflash 3 w 4465_240.HEX ( please replace the '3' with the number that matches ya dvd drive:) and thats it:) |

Hello SirQUK, Thank You! I missed the underscore between the 5 and the 2. The flash went successfully when I followed Your directions. I didn't mention my particular problem; my Encarta Reference Library 2002 DVD-ROM does not work. Unfortunately it is still a no-go. I did try it on my neighbors DVD-ROM/CD-ROM Combo and it works O.K. I will probably get a scratch repair kit and see what happens. Thank You again for Your Help!!! Later, Lee |
